O LEC tem por finalidade empreender, coordenar e promover, dentro do princ\u00edpio da liberdade de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica e o desenvolvimento tecnol\u00f3gico, bem como outras atividades cient\u00edficas e t\u00e9cnicas necess\u00e1rias ao progresso e \u00e0 boa pr\u00e1tica da engenharia civil, exercendo a sua a\u00e7\u00e3o, fundamentalmente, nos dom\u00ednios das obras p\u00fablicas, da habita\u00e7\u00e3o e urbanismo, do ambiente, da ind\u00fastria dos materiais, componentes e outros produtos para a constru\u00e7\u00e3o, e em \u00e1reas afins, visando a sua atividade essencialmente a qualidade e a seguran\u00e7a das obras, a prote\u00e7\u00e3o e a reabilita\u00e7\u00e3o do patrimonio natural e constru\u00eddo e a moderniza\u00e7\u00e3o e inova\u00e7\u00e3o tecnol\u00f3gicas do sector da constru\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
